Barclays expands into ratings advisory
Azmat Zuberi joins the bank as a director in structured corporate finance.
Barclays continues to expand its fixed income division with the creation of a new role for a ratings advisory expert. Azmat Zuberi, who previously ran the ratings advisory team at JPMorgan, joined last week and will be based in Hong Kong reporting to Chris Hui, head of structured corporate finance.
In addition to mainstream ratings assignments, Zuberi will also play an origination role in debt capital markets focusing on capital structure optimization. Known for his forceful personality and larger than life character, Zuberi worked at JPMorgan for three years based in Hong Kong and before that was employed by Credit Suisse First Boston in Singapore and London doing proprietary credit research.
