Sidley Austin Brown & Wood expands Korean practice

International law firm Sidley Austin Brown & Wood has announced the addition of five lawyers to its Korea practice group. All five lawyers have represented US, Asian and Korean corporations and financial institutions in connection with a range of transactional activities governed under English, Hong Kong and US law.

Jae Chul (JC) Lee, who leaves Simmons and Simmons and Sewon Kang, formerly of Seoul-based firm Kim, Choi & Lim, both practice in structured finance, securitization and capital markets and join the firm's Hong Kong office. A third Hong Kong-based lawyer will join the firm later in 2001.

The firm recently announced the addition in New York of Nelson Ahn and Dohyong (DH) Kim, who focus on the representation of financial institutions, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets work. Both joined from Winston & Strawn.
