The rise of technology in asset management, the challenge of finding the right people to build asset management firms of the future and the question of what keeps a chief operating officer (COO) up at night were among the topics for debate at AsianInvestor's 2nd COO Forum.

The event on April 20 at Singapore's Andaz hotel brought together some representatives of some of the region's leading asset managers.

Among the subjects up for discussion was how asset managers could put processes in place to harness technologies such as big data and interact with newly tech-empowered regulators. 

Among the speakers and panelists on the day were Francis Braeckevelt and Mark Nelligan of BNY Mellon, AsianInvestor's COO of the Year Jeff Plein, Steven Knabl of Swiss Asia Financial and Kenneth Lim of Nikko Asset Management.
