Morgan Stanly branches into Taiwan

Morgan Stanley Dean Witter has opened Morgan Stanley & Co. International Limited Taipei to be the firm's new Taipei branch office. The branch has been opened to expand Morgan Stanley's activities in Taiwan. The Taipei branch will conduct agency equity business for the firm's foreign and local institutional clients. The office is on the 22nd floor of Taipei Metro, Taipei.

"Taiwan is one of the most important new markets for the firm in Asia," says Mario Francescotti, president of Morgan Stanley Asia, commenting on the new branch. "Our investment to upgrade to branch status and in our Taiwan equities business represents an exciting new opportunity for the firm that is key to both our franchise and our commitment to the region in general."
