HSBC gets new South Asia syndications head

In an internal reshuffle, Rakesh Bhatia will transfer from Hong Kong to Singapore to be HSBCÆs new head of syndications for South Asia.
Bhatia was formerly responsible for key relationships in Hong Kong such as with Hutchison Whampoa (which recently launched a HK$12 billion loan via HSBC) and Swire (which HSBC has just closed a syndication for).

Bhatia replaces PS Gan who left the bank in May. Bhatia has worked for HSBC for almost 14 years and has seen previous stints in India, the Middle East and London.
