Herbert Smith litigation partner joins Hong Kong Office

John Ogilvie leaves grey skies of London behind to take up post in SAR.

John Ogilvie, a partner in Herbert Smith's London office, has joined the firm's Hong Kong office. He has been a litigation partner since 1993 and has extensive experience across a wide range of complex contentious issues, including professional negligence (both accountants and solicitors), disciplinary proceedings and media & art related disputes.

Ogilvie has been involved in several prominent cases and acted for high-profile clients since joining Herbert Smith. He advised the UK firm of Arthur Andersen in relation to the affairs of Enron, and also acted successfully for Time Warner in preventing Don King Productions Inc from getting an injunction on HBO televising the classic featherweight title fight between Prince Naseem Hamed and Kevin Kelley in Madison Square Garden in December 1997.

"I am very pleased that John has joined us in Hong Kong," comments Mark Johnson, Herbert Smith's head of litigation in Hong Kong. "His broad based background and experience will make him a valuable addition to the Hong Kong team."
