Cross left DLJ for ABN Amro operations post

David Cross has joined ABN Amro as chief operating officer this week following a sweeping organizational restructuring at the Dutch bank this month. The former chief financial officer of DLJ Asia will be responsible for building client-related services infrastructure for the bank's Asia Pacific equities team.

Commenting on Cross's joining the bank, Nate Emerson, chief executive officer, says: "We have significantly restructured our operations to be able to put a strong sectoral overlay on our country-based product. I am confident he will continue the work to move our operations more closely into alignment with our clients' needs."

From 1 December, the bank has taken away the regional dimension of its business focus, concentrating instead on client management and products development to avoid conflicts on resources allocation.

Cross is replacing Tim Boyce who has left for London to take up the post of global head of operations for the equity division.
