AsianInvestor's gala dinner for the award winners was held at the Ritz Carlton on May 18. You could see the smiles and celebration all around.

We hope everyone had a great time and we look forward to doing this again next year!
AsianInvestor hosted a gala dinner for the winners of its industry-leading Asset Management Awards at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong on May 18.
While most of our asset management award winners were announced in April, four award winners were announced at the gala dinner.
As our attendees started coming in, there was certainly a lot of excitement in the air!
The event started with cocktails and dinner before proceeding to the awards presentation ceremony.
Indira Vergis, editor of AsianInvestor, kicked off the event with welcome remarks.
We invited our esteemed judging panel for the Asset Management Awards to come up on stage for a group photo. We kicked off the awards ceremony with the Institutional Excellence Award for Best Life Insurer - Large (AUM over $50bn). The winner was Prudential Hong Kong.
Collecting the award for Prudential Hong Kong was Dicky Lam, CFO, and a colleague.
The Asset Management Awards began with the Asset Service Awards. First up was Best Bank for Cross-Border Custody and the winner was BNP Paribas. Collecting the award were Caroline Longley, client service and relationship manager, securities Services Hong Kong and Pablo Rodriguez, global custody product manager, securities services Asia Pacific (middle).

The winner of Asset Service Awards - Best Data & Technology Provider was Linnovate Partners. Collecting the award was Andrea Balboa, marketing manager.

The winner of Asset Service Awards - Best Global Custodian for Asset Owners was Northern Trust. Collecting the award was Angelo Calvitto, head of Asia Pacific and another colleague.

The winner of Asset Service Awards - Best Global Custodian for Mutual Funds was HSBC Securities Services. Collecting the award was Riccardo Millich, director of business development.

The winner of Asset Service Awards - Best Index Provider, Global was S&P Dow Jones Indices. Collecting the award was Sam Tsui, head of market development and other colleagues.

The winner of Asset Class Awards - Asia Ex-Japan Equity was Maple-Brown Abbott's Asian Equity Income strategy. Collecting the award was Duncan Hodnett, head of global distribution.

The winner of Asset Class Awards - Emerging Market Debt was PGIM Fixed Income - Fixed Income EMD Long/Short. Collecting the award was Managing Director Helen Chang.

Next up was the ESG Excellence Award - Best Social Investment Strategy Adviser and the winner was BNP Paribas Asset Management. Collecting the award was Ross Lu, head of institutional sales for China.

The winner of ESG Excellence Award - Best Environmental Investment Strategy Adviser went to Fidelity International. This award winner was announced at the gala dinner.

The winner of Fund House of the Year Award - Japan was Asset Management One.
Takeshi Fukui, CEO of Asset Management One, accepted the award and gave an acceptance speech.

The Fund House of the Year Award - Taiwan was awarded to Yuanta Investment Trust.
Julian Liu, president and CEO of Yuanta Funds, accepted the award and gave an acceptance speech.
The Fund House of the Year Award - Singapore was awarded to Fidelity International.
Johann Santer, head of private banking, wealth and strategic clients, APAC ex-Japan, accepted the award and gave an acceptance speech.
The Fund House of the Year Award - Southeast Asia winner was Sucorinvest Asset Management. This award winner was announced at the gala dinner.
Jemmy Paul Wawointana, CEO of Sucorinvest AM, collected the award and gave an acceptance speech.
The Fund House of the Year Award - Hong Kong SAR was given to Hang Seng Investment Management. The winner was announced at the gala dinner.

Our ceremony finale was the Marquee Awards. In this category, the Asset Service Provider of the Year was won by BNY Mellon. Collecting the award were John Sin, head of asset servicing, Greater China, (left) and Lori Zheng, relationship manager.

Our next marquee award was for Best Asset Manager for Diversity. JP Morgan Asset Management was the winner. Dan Watkins, CEO Asia-Pacific, collected the award.

Our third marquee award was for Best Institutional Product/Strategy. ABL Aviation was the winner. Joey Zhao, head of Asia-Pacific, ex-Japan, (right) and other colleagues collected the award.

Our final marquee award was the Asia Fund House of the Year. The winner, announced at the gala dinner, was JP Morgan Asset Management.

A pop quiz hosted by AsianInvestor's Sarah Hearn was an instant hit. The prize was a bottle of champagne for every correct answer. The quiz had 22 questions.
Lots of eager attendees were hoping to get the right answer.

The enthusiasm was infectious.
And of course, the evening brought plenty of networking moments.
