"Why should I pay Germany 0.3% for 10 years?"

"Why should I pay Germany 0.3% for 10 years?"

At AsianInvestor's recent Insurance Investment Forum in Hong Kong we sat down to interview Sophia Cheng, chief investment officer at Cathay Financial Holdings.

Cheng had earlier participated in a panel discussion on the challenges liability-driven investors face as they hunt for yield in the low-rate environment while trying not to compromise on risk, as reported.

In our video interview Cheng discusses a range of topics that we have broken up into three short clips. In this third and final interview extract Cheng reveals that Cathay Financial has plans to invest more into Asia and emerging markets.

She explains how its global allocations have changed over the past four years, how its perception of risk has evolved and what hopes she sees for the development of Asian and EM bond markets.
