Neil Weston moves from Siebel to content management application vendor.

Vignette, a provider of integrated content management applications, has appointed Neil Weston vice president and general manager for the company's Asia Pacific region. Weston, who has more than 30 years of experience in the information technology industry, will lead Vignette's growing operation in the region.

Weston comes to Vignette from Siebel Systems, where as vice president he led the sales organization for Northern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to taking that post, Weston served for three years as managing director for Siebel Systems UK.

Before joining Siebel Systems, Weston worked for six years at Oracle in a variety of leadership positions, including that of managing director of Australasia.

"The Asia Pacific region is one of tremendous growth and opportunity, and Neil is a software veteran with demonstrated success in leading highly productive sales organizations there," says Dan J. Lautenbach, senior vice president of global sales and operations at Vignette. "We are pleased to have Neil's tremendous energy and experience to drive Vignette's continued momentum in the Asia Pacific."
