VIDEO: Carl Tannenbaum eyes new Asia growth engine

At AsianInvestor's recent Asian Investment Summit in Hong Kong, we sat down to interview Carl Tannenbaum, senior vice-president and chief economist at Northern Trust.

In this video interview, Tannenbaum discusses how growth and inflation trends affect Asia, and his hope that peripheral Asian economies will join the global growth engine and propel others forward. He also discusses China's attempt to rebalance its economy on a more sustainable path.

Tannenbaum says that central banks around the world have to look at the bigger global economic picture and coordinate amongst themselves. He also discusses the need for investment in regional infrastructure and how the US response to the launch of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank was a missed opportunity.
