UBS connects with Wang

Investment bank entices highly rated telco analyst from Goldman Sachs.

UBS's market leading telco franchise has received an added boost with the appointment of Jinjin Wang as China telecoms analyst. Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Bill Sohn, head of Asian telecoms research at the Swiss bank.

She joins from Goldman Sachs where she was the lead analyst for the China telecoms sector and prior to this also had the same coverage responsibility at China International Capital Corporation (CICC). While at CICC from March 2001 to February 2004, Wang advised on the acquisition of provincial assets, including those for China Mobile.

Prior to this posting, Wang worked in the equity risk management division of Wachovia Bank in Atlanta and as a New York-based investment analyst in the risk management group at General Motors Investment Management Corporation.

"She is clearly a rising star in her field and comes highly recommended by a number of our key institutional clients," says Chi-Won Yoon, head of equities in Asia at UBS. "Having published research on three of the four major telecom IPOs from China, Jinjin brings a unique insight into the sector."
