Standard Chartered hires new syndications director

Harrison Ong joins from HSBC to lead syndications effort in the Lion City.

Standard Chartered Bank had announced the appointment of Harrison Ong as director of syndications for Singapore. He reports to Pat Waranimman, managing director and head of the Southeast Asia syndications group.

Harrison joins Standard Chartered after more than eight years with HSBC Investment Banking and Markets in Singapore, where he held the position of director, debt markets client group. Harrison was involved in both bond and loan origination and structuring transactions for a broad range of clients across industries.

In his new role, Harrison will be responsible for developing Standard Chartered's syndicated loan origination and structuring activities in the Singapore market.
