Standard Chartered hires new North East Asia syndications head

Leonard Wei leaves JPMorgan to join Standard Chartered in the role of head of syndications for North East Asia.

Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of Leonard Wei as head of syndications for global markets, covering North East Asia, China and Hong Kong. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Philip Cracknell, global head of syndications.

Leonard joins Standard Chartered from JPMorgan's Hong Kong office, where he held the position of managing director, investment banking. Prior to that he was managing director of JPMorgan's global syndicated finance group.

At Standard Chartered, Leonard will look to developing the bankÆs syndications business further in North East Asia, including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, and will be supported by Eric Chan as head of syndications for Hong Kong and China.
