Savoret named CEO at Lehman Brothers

Lehman Brothers has named Benoit Savoret as chief executive officer of Asia equities, based in Tokyo. Savoret will be responsible for all of the firmÆs equity sales, trading, research and equity capital market activities throughout Asia. He will also join the Regional Asian Executive Committee and the Global Equity Executive Committee.

Savoret will report to Robert S. Shafir and Roger B. Nagioff, co-heads of Lehman BrothersÆ Global Equity Division, and also Jarett F. Wait, CEO of Lehman Brothers Asia.

Savoret joined Lehman Brothers in 1997 and was previously head of global equity volatility business.

This appointment marks the firmÆs expansion of its Asian business. Wait said, "The appointment of Benoit to lead our equity business in Asia not only reflects the firm's commitment to this region, but also our view of the significant opportunities for equities in Japan and throughout Asia."
