Platzer revealed as head of cash and custody sales

Four weeks after taking up the post, ABN AMRO announces the arrival of Wolfgang Platzer to head regional sales for the bank and broker market.

Wolfgang Platzer has moved from Amsterdam to Singapore to take up the job of regional head of sales for ABN AMRO's global transaction services (GTS) division. He will be covering bank and broker clients.

Platzer will be responsible for the sale of cash management, payment and custody services to financial institutions throughout the Asia Pacific region. He has arrived from Amsterdam where he was ABN AMRO's head of global product management for financial institutions and public sector clients.

Prior to that he spent five years as product manager for corporates and financial institutions, and two years as head of marketing for IBGC (ABN AMRO-speak for investment banking and global cleints). Before that he did a stint in New York with the bank's GTS division.

Commenting on the announcement, Joseph Geronimo, global head of banks and broker sales for GTS, said: "Wolfgang is a very experienced banker and an important addition to our GTS Asian management team. His appointment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the region, which has a strategic role in our business, and our aim to develop deeper relationships with our Asian clients."
