These questions and more were among the hot issues under discussion at AsianInvestor's first ESG Investment in Asia conference in Hong Kong on March 13.

The event brought together representatives of leading non-governmental organisations as well as regional asset owners and fund specialists to debate and gain key insights on ESG issues.

Among the questions raised was the point of whether investors were adopting ESG strategies on their own terms or because of regulatory pitfalls in failing to do so.
