Those present included senior investors from China’s government investment funds, insurance companies, trusts, pensions funds, family offices as well as fund selectors and heads of distribution from China’s private banks.
Topics up for discussion included the question of how Chinese insurers would seek to benefit from the Stock Connect schemes linking Shanghai and Shenzhen to Hong Kong, insurers' plans for investment outsourcing, and wealthy mainlanders' rising interest in offshore alternatives.
