Oaktree acquires SingaporeÆs Pangaea Capital

The two year old special situations firm is being picked up by private equity firm Oaktree for an undisclosed sum.
Oaktree Capital has agreed to buy 100% of the asset management vehicle of Singapore-based Pangaea Capital. The purchase price being paid to its founding partners has not been disclosed.Pangaea is a special situations fund, with two-thirds of its investments focused on the real estate sector, in which field it covers distressed debt, unbundling property from corporate structures, securitizations, plus direct property holdings and developments.
