Merrill Lynch combines internet and computer software research teams
An increasing overlap of technologies in the internet and computer software industries has led Merrill Lynch to combine its internet and computer software research units under one umbrella in Asia.
Matei Mihalca will sit at the helm as Merrill Asia Pacific's head of regional software and internet research. Mihalca will be responsible for developing an AsianPacific software-internet research product, as well as strengthening the global network of analysts in these fields.
Mitali Ghosh will take over as senior analyst on the Indian software research team at DSP Merrill Lynch, where significant emphasis is being placed in a reflection of the growing international prominence of the country's computer industry.
Other internet analysts will have enlarged roles and take on additional responsibility for software research in their markets.
