Lovells hires Law
International law firm Lovells has announced that it has hired the aptly named Colin Law. Law will work in the firm's Beijing office in the role of consultant. He joins Lovells from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and has worked with that firm in Hong Kong, Beijing and London.
At Lovells he will focus on telecom deals including corporate finance, private equity, M&A and equity capital markets deals. Law will report to Robert Lewis who became managing partner of Lovells' Beijing office in 2001 and since then has trebled the size of the firm's presence there.
Commenting on the appointment of Law, Lewis said that Law's "considerable experience and excellent reputation in offshore M&A, Hong Kong listings and private equity transactions particularly in the China telecom sector, perfectly complements our existing capabilities in the telecom/IT and IP areas in China."
