Law firm appoints securitization specialist
International law firm Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe has announced that Howard Goldwasser, a partner in the New York structured finance group, is to move to Tokyo to co-lead the firm's Asian securitization practice alongside Christopher Lewis.
Orrick, who has worked in Orrick's New York office for more than eight years, will be responsible for the team's non-Japan securitization business. In this capacity he will be working with Helen Yeo, a partner in the Singapore office.
Ralph Baxter, Orrick's chairman and CEO, believes the move will help develop the firm's global business. "This represents our most recent step to deepen our global service model," he says. "Orrick aims to deliver seamless service to our clients in Asia and Europe on the same order of quality and responsiveness that characterizes our US practice. Howard's substantial international experience and securitization expertise made him a perfect choice for our growing securitization practice in Asia."
