JPMorgan Securities Asia appoints new Japanese investment banking chief

Tetsuya Kawano, formerly of Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, to head up Japanese investment banking group.

JPMorgan Securities Asia has announced the appointment of Tetsuya Kawano as president and head of the investment-banking group in Japan with immediate effect. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Kawano had stints at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

"Tetsuya has been a trusted advisor to many of Japan's prominent corporate leaders who value his advice on mergers and acquisitions and equity transactions," says Ralph Parks, chairman of JPMorgan Asia-Pacific, of the new hire. "He joins a team that offers the most complete set of investment banking solutions available in Japan."
