Goodbye West LB, hello Standard Chartered

The head of primary distribution has left WestLB, taking two of his colleagues with him.

German banking giant WestLB has lost three of its staff to rival Standard Chartered.

Anton Martin, formerly WestLB's head of primary distribution and secondary team in London, has joined Standard Chartered as its new head of global distribution, bringing colleagues Rafael Valbuena and Gary Bickles with him.

Valbuena will take the post of director based in London. He will be responsible for the distribution and secondary activity for counties in the UK time zone. Bickles joins as an associate editor in a support role for Valbuena, assisted by director David Kempton and associate director Brian Tomkins.

Standard Chartered said the new appointments were a step towards strengthening its global loan syndications and distribution team.
