Deutsche hires Davison as prime broking co-head

Nathan Davison will co-head Asian prime finance with New York transferee David Murphy.

Deutsche Bank has hired Nathan Davison to co-head its prime finance team in Hong Kong. He joins from Merrill Lynch in London, where he was a managing director in their prime broking team.

His fellow co-head is David Murphy, who has been with Deutsche Bank since 2002. Up until recently Murphy was based in New York, but he returned to Hong Kong this year, where he worked in the 1990s. Their principal responsibilities will be dealing with synthetic equities and stock lending activities.

The gentlemen will report to Matt Press, head of global equities Asia, and to Jonathan Hitchon and Barry Bausano, co-heads of global prime finance.

Deutsche is reinforcing its prime broking team not only to take account of the extra business they say they are witnessing this year, but also following the departures of Ryan Bacher and Carlos Mendes to Barclays Capital this summer
