Deutsche Bank hires new utilities head
Deutsche ups its power skills with a key hire from UBS Warburg.
Eugene Qian has been hired by Deutsche Bank to be head of utilities corporate finance for Asia. Qian joins from UBS Warburg's global energy and power group in Hong Kong, where he will also be based with Deutsche.
Qian's previous client base included utilities firms in China and Hong Kong. "Eugene has extensive experience in the Asian utilities industry in both M&A and capital raising," says Philip Crotty, head of global corporate finance in Asia at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong. "His recent focus on clients and transactions in China and Hong Kong will help develop further Deutsche Bank's franchise."
Qian will report to Crotty and to Rob Gray, the global head of energy, utilities and chemicals at Deutsche Bank in London.
