Deutsche appoints new global cash and trade head

Marilyn Spearing takes the executive post in its GTB division.
Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Marilyn Spearing as its new global head of trade finance and cash management corporates for its Global Transaction Banking (GTB) area. Effective August 15, Spearing will carry out the position between London and Frankfurt and report directly to Werner Steinmueller, Deutsche BankÆs Head of GTB.

Spearing brings 25 years of experience in the banking industry. DeutscheÆs GTB franchise covers cash management, trade finance and
trust & securities services including domestic custody,

Most recently, she was global head of sales for HSBCÆs GTB franchise. Prior to this posting, Spearing held the title of HSBCÆs global head of payments and cash management for 10 years.

Her resume also includes stretches at Barclays Global Services Division and Barclays de Zoete Wedd in New York, where she held senior positions. In addition, Spearing was elected to the board of directors at SWIFT in 2005.

SpearingÆs recruitment to Deutsche follows several months of regional expansion of its GTB operations. The bank has been on an aggressive hiring drive across Asia, bringing in new recruits in both regional and country specific trade finance and cash management roles.
