Commerce One appoints Korean sales director

Commerce One, the Nasdaq listed e-commerce solutions provider, has appointed Changho Lee as regional sales director for Korea.

Lee, who joins Commerce One from Adobe Systems Korea where he was representative director and president, will be responsible for growing Commerce One's business and strategic network alliances in Korea.

"Mr. Lee's appointment comes at a time when business-to-business [B2B] e-commerce is experiencing a dramatic expansion in the Asian region," says Lloyd Oki, general manager and vice president for Asia Pacific at Commerce One. "As one of the major markets in Asia, Korea is at the forefront of B2B e-commerce."

Commerce One has just announced the formation of GTWeb Korea, part of Commerce One's Global Trading Web, a connected global community of online exchanges that all run on Commerce One's trading platform. GTWeb Korea is a joint venture between the technology provider and LG Electronics, Hyundai Motors, Dacom, Samyang and the Kumho Group. GTWeb Korea will initially provide maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) services, but the members plan to expand that to include procurement in industrial sectors such as chemical, automotive and electronics.
