Clifford Chance hires two senior lawyers

Russell Wells trades London for Singapore, while Martin Rogers leaves Herbert Smith but stays in Hong Kong.

International law firm Clifford Chance has announced the appointment of two new partners for its Asian business. Russell Wells, partner in the projects group, has relocated from London to the Singapore office, while Martin Rogers will be a partner in the litigation & dispute resolution practice the Hong Kong.

Wells has extensive experience in projects work, acting both for banks and sponsors on projects in the oil and gas, power, telecoms, water and infrastructure sectors. Although based in London for the past 13 years, he is said to have significant experience of transactions in Asia, particularly India, as well as Europe, the Middle East, Africa and America.

Rogers, meanwhile, will focus primarily on financial services regulatory work and insolvency matters. Based in Hong Kong for the past 12 years, he was formerly with Herbert Smith, where he was a senior partner in the litigation and arbitration group.
