Citibank has added to its global securities services with the appointment of Samuel Lau as vice president, regional sales and account manager for intermediaries in Asia. Lau will be responsible for client management, business generation, product support & development and marketing of services to the broker/dealers, global custodians, government central depositories and stock exchanges that make up the client base for the global securities services team.

Lau's appointment brings the number of people in the team based in Hong Kong to five. Lau will report to Mike Sleightholme, head of global securities services for intermediaries in Asia and work alongside Carmen Lee, who also has the same designation as Lau. Prior to start work at Citibank earlier this week, Lau was head of North Asia investor services for Bank of New York.

Lau has also worked in similar capacities at Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase and Clearstream Banking based in Hong Kong since 1993.
