Chen for UBS Taiwan

UBS has announced the appointment of Ken Chen to its Taiwan operations, luring the seasoned equity research specialist from Deutsche Bank. He comes to the Swiss group as its new head of equity research and equity strategy for Taiwan, while taking on further responsibility as head of banks coverage.

Chen, who has also been anointed with the title of managing director at UBS, reports to Nicholas Pink, head of Asian Equity research and to Michael Chin, UBS's head of Taiwan equities.

At Deutsche, Chen was most recently managing director and head of research with responsibility for the overall management of the Taiwan research product. This position also entailed him to drive its market strategy for Taiwan.

His CV also includes a stretch at CLSA, where between October 1999 and April 2002, Chen was head of research. He also brings investment analyst experience from ING Barings and Peregrine Securities in Taiwan. Chen's UBS tenure begins in early May.
