BNP Paribas Peregrine appoints new senior advisor

Theresa Foo leaves Standard Chartered to take up a new role with BNP Paribas Peregrine.

BNP Paribas Peregrine has announced the appointment of Theresa Foo as non-executive chairman and senior advisor for the bank's Singapore activities, focusing on developing new business initiatives, broadening client relationships and improving quality of service for clients.

Foo joins the bank from Standard Chartered, where she held the role of chief executive, the first Asian and female to be appointed by Standard Chartered in that capacity. Prior to that, Foo has also held senior positions at Bank of America and OCBC.

In her new job, Foo will work closely with Francois Wertheimer, chief executive of BNP Paribas in Singapore. Wertheimer believes Foo's qualities will be beneficial in developing the bank's activities in the region.

"I am delighted that we will be able to benefit from Foo's extensive knowledge and experience of Singapore and Southeast Asia," he says. "With her help, we are confident of the continued success of BNP Paribas Peregrine Singapore in being a premier investment banking partner for our clients and a leading international investment bank in the region."
