The excitement continues with day 3 of our Asset Management Awards 2023.
Today, we reveal the results of the Asset Class awards.
This category of awards was decided by investment performance data provided by Mercer. The winners were picked from the consultancy’s universe of tracked strategies.
AsianInvestor used the data to hone in on strategies with funds registered in at least one location in Asia Pacific. We also took into account whether the fund houses had a presence or operations in the region.
Performances were measured against widely tracked benchmarks for most asset classes and was related to 2022 only. (More information will be provided in follow-up content in coming weeks.)
Let’s not forget 2022 was also one of the worst years for financial markets, with both public stocks and bonds falling close to 20%.
Managing to beat the benchmark under these incredibly challenging conditions is definitely high accomplishment for the winners of these awards.
In a few sub-categories, the editorial team chose a winner as well as a finalist because the performance of both strategies in 2022 was commendable.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Mercer for providing the data and related valuable insights.
