AIMR hires Asia Pacific VP

The Association for Investment Management Research has boosted its Asian presence with the appointment of Kha Loon Lee.

The Association for Investment Management Research (AIMR) today announced that it has hired Kha Loon Lee as vice president of global affairs (Asia). Lee, to be based in Hong Kong, will be responsible for liaising with Asian regulatory and professional bodies and working with AIMR's 11 regional member societies to ensure that the needs of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidates and AIMR members are met.

The association says the move was driven by increased demand for its CFA certificate, as well as an increase in members. More than 3800 AIMR members work in Asia, an increase of 378% since 1995.

Lee joins AIMR from the Securities Commission of Malaysia, where he held the position of manager. In his time with the SC he also acted as president of the Malaysian Society of Financial Analysts.
