ABN AMRO appoints new head of semiconductor coverage

Eric Wang relocates from Taipei to Hong Kong to take newly created position at ABN Amro.

ABN AMRO has announced the appointment of Eric Wang as senior vice president and head of coverage for semiconductor clients in Asia. Wang will move to Hong Kong to take up the newly created post, having previously been based in Taipei as head of global semiconductor research for ABN AMRO Equities.

The bank has identified the semiconductor industry as one of its key target sectors in Asia. In his new post, Wang will sell the bank's products to semiconductor clients.

"Eric's working background in the industry and deep knowledge make him the ideal candidate for this position," says Tamira Treffers-Herrera, the bank's global head of semiconductor coverage. "This senior appointment reflects the importance of the Asian semiconductor segment to ABN AMRO's global technology franchise."
