Citi strengthens Asia-Pacific prime brokerage with new hires
Citi has been embellishing its prime brokerage team in Asia-Pacific with new hires and is understood to be planning more appointments in the near future that will raise staff levels by 20% to 80 people overall.
Over the past few months, the US bank has appointed Ian Nissen as head of futures and prime finance sales in Australia and added Chris Day to the exchange-traded derivatives team. Both joined from JP Morgan.
Meanwhile, its capital introductions team has been adorned with the recent additions of Rob Baigrie, previously head of investor relations at Singapore-based fund manager HDH Capital, run by hedge fund superstar Huy Hoang; and Carol Teng, who hails from Nomos Capital – a UK-based third-party marketer for hedge-fund clients that is now known as NCP Introductions.
Citi's commitment to a best-of-breed PB sales force and hires of this calibre puts it in a strong position for individual and team glory in AsianInvestor's upcoming prime broking awards, the 'Prime Broking Oscars'.
