The 25 most influential women in asset management
AsianInvestor is pleased to announce our list of the 25 most influential women in asset management in Asia-Pacific.
This spring marks the centennial of International Women’s Day, and we thought it worthwhile to mark the occasion and to acknowledge successful women in our industry, at the same time highlighting countries where women still find it difficult to progress in a career.
Each winner is profiled in the May edition of AsianInvestor magazine, with our list published in full below. You can also click here to view a photo gallery of our top 25.
To celebrate we are organising a charity ‘long lunch’ to support The Women’s Foundation, to be held at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong on Friday, June 24, where we will pay tribute to our 25 leaders. For tickets or sponsorship enquiries, please email Rebekka Kristin ([email protected]) or call her on +852 2122 5203.
The selection process for our top 25 was conducted by the editorial staff of AsianInvestor. We received numerous nominations from around the region, in addition to our own ideas about who should feature. Our ‘short’ list ended up with over 80 candidates.
It is a pity we couldn’t include everyone because there are some terrific success stories…but the discipline of keeping the list to a manageable 25 means we had to make some hard decisions.
We put in some deliberate skews, to ensure representation from markets where there are very few women at the top decision-making level. We also sought to provide a mix of institutional investors, distributors, investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs and regulators; service providers were excluded.
This project forms part of our series of top 25 lists that AsianInvestor has put together to denote influence in the industry as well as among Asia-based hedge funds.
Our thanks to everyone who supported this project. See you at the long lunch!
