BNY Mellon appoints head of trading in Korea
Asset-management and securities-servicing firm BNY Mellon has hired a foreign exchange and derivatives specialist as its new head of trading in Korea. KH Kang joined earlier this month to replace TB Song who will retire after a handover period.
With 14 years of FX and derivatives trading experience, Kang was most recently head of FX and derivatives at Woori Securities, and previously at Citi.
Reporting to Marek Unger, Asia head of trading, Kang will be tasked with helping expand BNY Mellon’s customer base in Korea focusing on financial institutions and the asset-management community.
“Foreign exchange expertise is an important part of the value proposition we offer our clients across many of our key businesses in Korea, such as asset servicing, issuer services and treasury services," says Unger.
BNY Mellon has four trading rooms across the Asia-Pacific region, in Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo, offering and trading foreign exchange, money markets, FX derivatives and interest rate derivatives.
