Axa Investment Managers creates Asia sales head role
With a career spanning BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Credit Agricole Asset Management and now Axa Investment Managers, Terence Lam seems to have a penchant for French firms.
Having left BNPP IP earlier this month, Lam will join Axa IM on July 2 in Hong Kong as head of sales and marketing for Asia-Pacific. The position was created with the aim of expanding the firm's presence in the region.
Reporting to Lam will be the consultant relations and institutional and retail sales and marketing teams, and Lam in turn will report to Asia-Pacific chief executive Jean-Pierre Leoni, who joined Axa IM last year.
Lam had been at BNPP Investment Partners since 2008, and his most recent role was Hong Kong-based head of institutional sales for Asia. He has also held senior business development and product management roles at Deutsche Asset Management and Credit Agricole Asset Management.
Lam's hire reflects a continued build-up of the distribution team in Asia, following the February hire of an executive in Hong Kong to cover sales to local banks (Axa declined to reveal the name) and of Lee Dong Keun as deputy chief marketing officer at Korean joint venture Kyobo Axa IM in Seoul late last year.
